The funny thing is I lived here yesrs ago, and back then it was such a pleasant place and very friendly, but now I've returned it's gone bad, I dare not go out at sun down.

I would already be very happy with ranked yeah. It might better suited for people who are not too involved in politics. But majority judgement has been proven to be supperior.
Difficult to get the citizenry to give a rating to every political party too. Ranked choice is nice because you can give your vote to as many, or as few as you want
Nothing prevents other voters to give low ratings to this kind of candidates though. I'm sure with this system far right would get 30% of 7/7, but also 50% of 0/7.
