Dark Tranquillity - Drop New Single
As part of their upcoming studio release Endtime Signals, due on August 16, the Swedish veterans Dark Tranquillity present the second single/video "Unforgivable".
Mikael Stanne of the new single: "Shot during our recent tours of Türkiye and Mexico, the "Unforgivable" clip showcases the band in its true element. From the intense drums of Joakim Strandberg Nilsson to the thunderous bass of Christian Jansson, the song is propelled forward at a pace not heard from the band in many years. Ripping guitars hold the structure fast as the electronic elements further emphasize the urgency and desperation of the track. A fresh surge of creativity and renewed vigour sparked this song that lyrically draws strength from frustration and helplessness in the face of oppression."

I'm not yet blown away by what I've heard but it's still a pretty solid track, it has that typical signature DT sound, with melodic riffs, and a hooky chorus, but also has a touch of the old Damage Done aggressiveness. I can see this latest album certainly matching or even bettering the standards of Moment but I'm not expecting it to live up to the high standards of Atoma, and it'll be a long shot to expect it to even come close to the the likes of Fiction and Character let alone Damage Done, but then who knows, it could well surprise me

Opening part was fast almost back to the roots, I think he could sing cleaner vocals when keyboards tock over, but otherwise, short fast and interesting song. Better as I expected.
