I personally believe that the author of a review must use the least of subjective criticism but it seems that it is not that easy when it comes to an album like Doliu.
It might be wrong to explain my own personal experience of this album as a review but this is how I came across Clouds. Some albums become the snapshot of moments, and here is the snapshot by Doliu.
The most beautiful doom metal release for this year,2014 and probably this will be one of those unique records which always sound fresh and enjoyable the same.
This is indeed a beautiful release. Although at times it reminds of Saturnus (which is a good thing) or some similar bands but it has a sound of its own too.
Oh damn, I've seen Pim (Officium Triste's vocalist) post this multiple times on Facebook because he's a guest musician for this album. For some reason I ignored it every time and still haven't checked it out.
Going to rectify that as soon as possible, especially because so far it's a praised record along with the fact that quite a few interesting members from other bands are involved.

I bet you would agree with me soon that it is the best doom release this year.
Very beautiful moments here. It gets dangerously close to repetition in a few places, a little too close for my tastes, but still manages to stay on this side of the line. Nice album overall.

This isn't similar to Saturnus at all. At least I don't hear it. They definitely have their own sound. Check out Doom:VS - Earthless if you want an album that is very similar to Saturnus.
There are some beautiful moments in this album, really like the piano parts too and overall a really lovely doom metal album. Thanks MS for advertising this album

Off topic, but I miss your reviews Susan. You made the years look proggier. :p

It caught me from the first moment when i found it in the staff picks and started to play, it was a pleasant listen and awesome harmony between professional harsh vocals and magical clean vocal made it one of the best of this year for my

What a beautiful album. I'm especially in love with the clean vocals. It seems I'm still catching up on albums from last year; there's a whole lot of great ones I missed. Favorite tracks: You Went so Silent, Even If I Fall.
I love this album, I love it emotional atmosphere and use of other instruments including the piano. Such a beauitful experience. The vocals are also top notch one such a very good doom metal reccord
A pretty soft melancholic doom, where calmer parts was not made for mt3 player and road, but good really good album, mix between different nation and band doom artists

I better die, because I never will learn speek english, so I choose dieing
What a beautiful album! I can't get enough of the clean vocals, especially in the 2nd track! The Deep Vast Emptiness, with its somewhat long, epic instrumental ride, is the highlight for me as well!
