Why does this band feel more generic with every album they release? Their earlier albums had something more unique to them. This just sounds like every other modern prog band.

Honestly, I think it's because as bands get access to more quality recording / mastering equipment, there's a trend to mimic the "best" production of the genre - whatever you think that may be.

Composition wise I dig this album and I think there's a good vibe running through it, but I totally get youe critique that it does sounds more similar to Caligula's Horse / Haken / modern Dream Theater etc in terms of sound.

That said I dig the chiptune vibes.

Yeah, that's definitely a part of it. As someone who has studied music production, I can definitely say that I've seen similar situations before. But I think they've gotten a little more stale composition wise as well. This album definitely has its' good moments, but I feel that some songs doesn't have enough interesting things in the way of quirky chord progressions and memorable melodies. I'm glad that you and other people like it though, especially since I also want this band to do well.

I agree. 3rd and 4th album were the best. I still listen to them and find them somehow unique, mainly the vocals help this band standout.

Ikr! That, as well as some creative synth work really made a difference.

Made of Metal
Pretty good album, very much in the same vein as Ghost Mile but not as consistent or creative. The heaviness has taken a bit of a step back in this release and instead the tracks feel more light with souring melodies and choruses. It's definitely a grower as well. First listen might be a little off-putting, but upon listening again things seem to fall into place.

Highlights: Colours, Brightstar, Saccharine Dream, Water Over The Bridge

Unfortunately a once original and unique band is starting to bore me to death.

Listened to this again and I like it the most out of the last three albums, the synth textures are cool.

This band is the definition of hit and miss for me. I liked Meaning of I, V was eh, I loved Ghost Mile, but this one just doesn't hook me. Hopefully that means their next album is amazing? Guess we'll see

This one is definitely several notches down from their previous albums. The composition is just not up to the mark.
