Alright, I confirm Laure sings on this, and that baroque music is still there, in spite of what the teaser tracks made me think, so I'm reassured.

You're right
The first singles certainly were underwhelming... but this album is worth getting just for these five last songs!

The first singles certainly were overwhelming

I think "underwhelming" is what you mean

The songs here are more streamlined and cohesive, but that's not a compliment to a project that appealed to me (and became known) thanks to its insane mix of styles, sounds and arrangements akin to sound collage. Compared to his past albums, this is much more restrained. And I expected a better, more inspired guitar work and riffs, since he's trying to take his project into a more metal direction.

Huh? So that was it? I was expecting some sort of übercreative mind-melting avant garde never made before, but all I got was just a symphonic metal(ish) album with some Middle Eastern influences, techno beats, polka, basic death metal guitars and random screaming. Very disappointing.

You've got a lot of guts. Let's see what they look like.

The cover art is absolutely awesome, Fortifem's style is very recognisable, original, and beautiful, exactly like this album from igorrr !
