After Amorphis' last outing that being Elegy back in 1996 if you're expecting an album of the same nature well some may be disappointed where others will revel in Amorphis' new found direction in metal. Almost completely gone are the harsh vocals of the old days and also the guitar and keyboard sounds are different now also. The most notable thing about the new found way but, is how damn good Pasi Koskinen's vocals sound on this album. Vocals are all clean now and are very easy to get into.

I personally consider this to be one of the weaker albums in the band's discography, although not quite the worst, since I believe Far From The Sun is worse. "Shining" is one of the more annoying (and bad, at least for their standards) Amorphis songs I've ever heard, I really can't stand that song for some reason. There are a few songs on here that I especially enjoy, like "Greed", "The Way", "Tuonela", and "Divinity". However the best song BY FAR for me is the last song "Summer's End", which is one of the best Amorphis songs I've ever heard... it's so beautiful.
