A progressive post-metal album released on Pelagic Records? If your mind instantly goes to The Ocean, you wouldn't be too wide of the mark, but Belgium's Psychonaut are far more than a mere imitation of the aforementioned German collective.

Found it by accident. Hooked from the first listen. I'm listening to this everyday. My favourites: 1,4,5, for now.

Found this thanks to the review. A few post albums I enjoyed from the first listen as this one.
Somewhere between 8.5 and 9 imo.

Great stuff. I wasn't expecting much but this exceeded all my expectations. Already a contender for album of the year in my opinion.

It's atmospheric, crushing, melodic, groovy, hypnotic, and cleverly crafted. Probably album of the year for me. And not to take away from the sheer immensity, but with a name and tracklist like that, I was expecting something with far more psych influence, but that's hardly a complaint.

This album is ridiculously good; looking at the release schedule for the rest of the year, I would be surprised if it doesn't end up being my AOTY

It's great and all but... this was not a 2020 release. I don't think it was even a 2019 release as I remember listening to this somewhere I haven't been since 2018.

Just looking it up again, and you're right, it was a 2018 release. I guess they wanted it to seem new in the publicity stuff to get hype, but it's a bit annoying that the bandcamp, spotify, etc were all portraying it as a 2020 release, not least because my 2020 AOTY isn't technically a 2020 release (although if the label can pretend that it is, so I can I for list purposes)

I guess it's a good way to handle it if your album went completely under the radar.

Great album with some great riffs, but too long IMO; I would've given it a 9 if it was like,15 minutes shorter .

This is a beast of an album. The guitar work and drumming is especially good, the songwriting is exceptional, and every track has at least several fantastic moments. As far as stand-ous are concerned "I Saw As A Huge Monkey" and "The Fall Of Consciousness" are in a league of their own, particularly that final breakdown in the latter track, but all the other tracks are equally as impressive as each other.

This song and that part in particular were sick when I saw them live last year

It would be great to witness them perform that live in action.
