Oh look, a new album in as our #1 for 2020. Let's see what kind of music it is.

It only has 24 votes. Give it a minute and it'll drop below 8.2

I think it's a decent enough Swede-melodeath release, but the score does surprise me - like Troy says, I imagine it'll go down quickly enough as more people vote for it, as it does feel a bit unremarkable, and that's coming from a melodeath fan

Extremely Overrated. Their 2018 EP was Great, but this just has too many problems regarding the choruses. Else, really good record.

A lot of Core!
Some nice moments of melodeath and a few moments of djent, but it sounds average.

Overrated? Band is barely known. Niklas has been doing nearly everything from the start and now they are on a super small label. Whats "Else"?

Overrated regarding MS score and overstatements people do about both the record and the band.
With the "else", I mean most of what's not chorus related is actually quite enjoyable.

That's not a comparison I've come across outside of your comment. What similarities do you hear?

My experience with this album was "Yeah this is alright. Nice vocals, riffs and skill..".
Then the clean vocals came in..

The clean vocals at times have a Hetfield vibe and some of the wah solos sound nearly identical to Kirks wah tone. I've used his signature wah in the past so I know that tone quite well.

Too many clichés on this one. Haven't heard anything else from them but this is more than melodic death metal. There're plenty of popy nu metal passages, lots of modern metal cringe moments, some industrial sounds thrown in the mix, and the whinny straight vocals are straight from the bummer school of Trivium. Production is excellent but it's a hard pass for me.

85 votes and still in 7.9..... What do you think now?....You wanna say 'overrated'?..
First time listening to them. Not yet completed but I am already into it.

I never said anything about it being overrated. I correctly estimated that the rating would drop with more exposure and asked another user why he compared this to Metallica.

KnifeAndHate is the only person who brought up their being overrated.

I'm not sure how someone could not hear the clear vocal similarities, unless they simply rated low without actually listening to the album (which is commonplace to happen to melodeath bands on this website).

As for me, I quite enjoy the album. It's a bit all over the place - like a mix of Metallica, melodeath, and core. Sometimes it's dark and spacey, and other times nu-metalish or thrashy. I actually don't mind the vocals, and find several of the choruses to be enjoyable. Probably a 7.5 for me.

It would probably be easier to make the comparison for someone who listened to a Metallica album more recently than 4 years ago.

People mentioning Metallica influences here but when I was reviewing it I felt like Testament was a more obvious comparison, mainly vocally but also instrumentally
