At this point, Amaranthe have been around long enough for most users on this or any metal site to have had the opportunity to encounter them and develop one of what I imagine are the only two possible opinions to have about them; I'm not sure this review will particularly satisfy either group.

I'll say this album is better than Maximalism and Helix but still isn't as good as albums before those. Fearless and Archangel are great tracks!
Edit: This album keeps getting better with each listen, I'm surprised it's not rated better. but I guess that classic MS move lol

Another more than solid add to the Amaranthe disco. Maybe even slightly better than Helix which had some stellar tracks but was mostly just alright. This one even has some Nexus vibes.

Feels like a classic Amaranthe album with a classic Amaranthe production, just... without good choruses. I'm happy that they tend to write faster songs again. And "Boom!" is hilarious.

I notice those albums always have a feed of "hate votes". I would hope people could be most objective about giving a rate to those albums. The fact of a band being "commercial" doesn't mean it's "making bad music" de facto.

That pretty much sums it up. A couple strong choruses her and there, but overall most of them sound like something I could write off the top of my head if you said "Hey, write an Amaranthe sounding song as fast as you can."

With Amaranthe I kinda have to be in the mood for it. Here there is an even blend of good and bad songs. I prefer Nils Molin's other band Dynazty. The poppy-commercial sound definitely doesn't make it bad, but it just fails to be a great album. Their best imo.
