Approximately three years after the release of the really good "Lionheart", Saxon, the masters (with Iron Maiden of course) of the NWOBHM scene are finally back with a new album, "The Inner Sanctum". "Lionheart" was really good and maybe that it was probably a bit hard for the band to release again something in the same vein because if "The Inner Sanctum" is a good and pleasant album, this is definitely not so exceptional too. Yeah, the new Saxon is a bit conventional if you want my opinion.

This album is Sick! "Red Star Falling", "State of Grace" are both great ballads. "Need For Speed" and "Going Nowhere Fast" are both cool, they kinda remind me of "Wheels of Steel". "Attila The Hun" was just epic. Not only was it a great song, but I was always very interested in Attila throughout my life after reading about him in middle school, so that was just added to it.

Pretty solid heavy metal album. The highlights for me are the blasting heavy metal number "Let Me Feel Your Power", hard rocking "I've Got To Rock (To Stay Alive)" and epic "Atila The Hun" (even though they mistyped his name, which is Attila).
