A lot of people seem to disregard the earlier MDB material and favour their latter, more melodic material, from what i've heard. But 'The Thrash of naked limbs' contains two of their best 90's songs, alongside one song that doesn't seem to go anywhere. Nonetheless, the harsh, hurled vocals of Stainthorpe and some truly epic death metal riffs make this EP a must have in any death/doom metal fan's collection.

Maybe the 30- generation. But certainly not a lot of people that grew up with the very early MDB albums and e.p.'s

Their debut is probably my favorite MDB album.

Well I certainly agree that their debut is underrated, but my favourite would have to be 'Turn Loose the swans'.

That's a great album too but I just find their debut.... different. I dunno, it has almost a morbid yet still elegant touch to it probably because it's pretty raw and almost chaotic at some points like in "The Return of the Beautiful". Both great albums though, no doubt about it

Well, I prefer the original version of 'The Return of the Beautiful' to the one on 'The Darkest Hours' believe it or not. Early MDB really does sound unique.

Same as "Sear Me"... the origial one owns all too. But I actually like everything they've done from the very beginning up to (and including) Songs Of Darkness (that one ism probably in my top three).
