Their debut was a pretty unique take on an atmospheric black metal album that was enjoyable troughout, but WHAT IS THIS.
I wouldn´t even consider it black metal anymore, just a very weird mix of corny lyrics, blackened symphonic deathcore.

I found it pretty enjoyable, even more than their first record and I got surprised by the rate here. Music really is way too subjective, I find no point in discussing it nowadays, as people have been living so many different perspectives of life to appreciate something or not.

This record speaks to me in a very simple and direct way. Maybe those who don't suffer from severe depression, especially in this pandemic, or who don't have closer ones who do won't get the meaning of its title in a depth that will easily allow them to understand what was proposed here: play those suicidal, bleak thoughts as a form of therapy, a means to alleviate the pain, exteriorize it, and that's why you don't need to go poetic. Maybe depression is really becoming a cliché when it should never, and many of us will find lyrics that portray it as "corny".

I get the feeling that the low score is probably based on the style more than anything else, as the guy above you mentions it going from black metal to blackened symphonic deathcore - as someone that likes deathcore, that change isn't an issue for me. I'm not as keen on this as recent albums from Shadow Of Intent and Lorna Shore as far as symphonic deathcore goes, but there's a few songs here I am enjoying a fair amount, particularly The Colossal Void and Consciousness Torn From The Void

I normally enjoy some deathcore bands but I think their first album was way better than this. I don´t find this mix very appealing to listen to, but as Rafael Cevidanes said, it is subjective. Good for you both that you are enjoying this album.
