With new albums from Dordeduh, Vallendusk and Panopticon, it's been a hell of a weekend for folk-influenced black metal.

This likely would have been better served with production quality similar to Autumn Eternal.

Yeah I'm not someone who necessarily picks up on production, but the snare is a bit grating and the vocals are quite buried at times. It's good but I prefer Roads To The North/Autumn Eternal

This is equal as musclassia wrote and those 3 albums I did listen same day. Its classic BM album starts as blusy ryme somewhere in USA as best what US can offer. Then pure BM blizzard .... nice album.

I think the music is strong enough on this one that I'm not as concerned with the production. Truth be told, I kinda like that the BM vocals and guitar are a bit of a dull roar. It's an interesting contrast with the sweetness of the more melodic passages and adds to the depressive ambiance, but leaves the light as the stronger impression. There's a lot to explore here and I'll be coming back to it often to do that.

I'd really love to hear this album with decent production, it could be outstanding, but even I can't take the poor sound (and I rarely complain about production)

Atmospheric black with Funeral Doom elements in the first track?
