This is my pick for the greatest live album, ever. The interplay between Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore is unbeatable. Deep Purple is not Deep Purple, anymore, without them.

OMFG, Kiss cannot touch DP ever. Not even when DP have their worst day; not in skill, not in inspiration.

DP improvise a lot on this live album, it's amazing.

I beg to differ, Purple is "heaver" and are lower tuned, but still KISS is about on the same level. Although Ill admit Blackmore is better than Frehley and Gillian is better than Stanley, I still think KISS is better. As far as this album goes, I think KISS Alive is better, I mean, live preformances is what they do best, and that is the pinnacle of it. Still, Made in Japan is pretty fuckin close

Kiss better than DP? That's a shocker, for me at least.

Amazing album, best live album, second only to KISS Alive

Unlike KISS Alive!, Deep Purple Made In Japan was actually live, and NOT re-worked in the studio like Alive! was. As KISS has already said, Alive! was totally re-worked in the studio, and fixed up. I'm sorry, that isn't a live album, then, if it's fixed to that extent. Deep Purple wins best live album
