Behemoth is among the leaders of the Polish Extreme Metal scene along with such enduring acts as Vader and Graveland. Throughout their colorful career Behemoth has morphed from their primitive Black Metal beginnings into the devastating, occult influenced Death Metal band that we know them to be today. As with their previous records, Behemoth's 'The Apostasy' brings us another slab of solid Death Metal, while not being too different, but not too similar, to their earlier works.

Rating: 7 Be Without Fear is by far and away the stand out on this album.

Rating: 8 A great album, with some truly irresistible guitar work that could only come from the hands of Nergal and co. Only thing that annoys me slightly is Nergal's vocals, which never really change.

Rating: 8 Not as strong as Demigod, although its nice to hear that the annoying vocal production on Demigod was ditched. This is definitely a more groove orientated album with songs like 'Be Without Fear', 'Libertherme' and 'Inner Sanctum' especially. A very good album, the same formula as always but original ideas also thrown in.
