If you are reading this review, chances are you are at least vaguely familiar with Manowar and their enormous excesses when it comes to theatricality and grandeur. Normally, I can tolerate their over-the-top bombast, and in fact I like to indulge a little. Death to false metal, posers leave my hall and all that. However, Manowar has reached what may very well be the apex of their trademark dramatic flair with Gods Of War. To some extent that may be a good thing, and there is a very strong effort in this album buried amongst the flair, but it can get tiresome.

Except quicker "King of Kings" that really precious, on album isn't nothing that would me take.

Rating: 4 Kinda weak & lame album, maybe the band tried to go Virgin Steele here with little success Mostly this is not epic nor very memorable. If you consider it power metal it's not very powerful, if you consider it heavy metal it's not very heavy. There are some interesting tracks like "King Of Kings", "Sleipnir" and "Loki God Of Fire", but an average song here is skipping material. While it's not sheer wastage of 73 minutes 50 seconds it's not worthwhile investing the said amount of time to either.
