The first song is horrible... I hated... worst first impression ever...
But the rest of the album is pretty good, nothing different from what we're used to

wtf? what's wrong with the first song? just as good as the rest of the album
anyway i think this album didn't surpass Saturday Night Wrist, but it's good nonetheless

Well, you give the album a 6 and yet you like the worst song in the album.
It is a typical/common/average/ordinary/habitual alternative (almost)emocore song... no power, no feeling, no memories left after hearing it... not the only bad song in this album, but the worst by far.
I guess the melodic side of Deftones, that used to atmospheric and hypnotizing, with bizarre alternative soundscapes (Deathblow??) is no more to be seen...  At least their powerful passages still have some good quality of previous works.

i think what you meant to say was that Diamond Eyes is the catchiest song on the album so we all have to dislike it like troo dark music troglodytes and somehow pretend that it has no power or feeling to it..

That's not what I wrote in any possible interpretation...
The ''Diamond Eyes'' song fails in every aspect imo: it fails in being powerful enough to cause an impression, and it even fails on the catchiness appeal (who usually turn out great on Deftones)... simply poor.
...''troo dark troglodytes''...  cmon, that is just silly...

I gave this album a 6 because (writing in your terms) i feel this album as a typical/common/average/ordinary/habitual alternative album. Almost nothing new and interesting to listen in general. For me it sounds like a bside album compilation of their previous releases. Its the only album that i dont like so much from them.

I am not a huge fan of the Deftones but I had to pick it up. At first listen it sounds a bit like a "heavier" Chevelle, which isn't a bad thing.

Pretty good album. Deftones, along with System of a Down, are one of the few alternative/nu-metal bands that I can tolerate and enjoy listening to

This album has such a dynamic atmosphere. The opening title track is short but sweet and 'Rocket Skates' is just mad.

This is my favorite Deftons album for sure. Some people don't like it too much, but i can't find a flaw in a single song, and I have heard each song more times then i can probably count. I understand that some people do find flaws in it, but as for my take on the album, its perfect.
