One of my favorite child memories is from when I was 7 years old. I didn't want to sleep so I just watched TV. I saw a sex scene, it was kind of hot but the best part was when Jason came out of nowhere and pierced the lovers with some sort of spear, now that was hot...
That's the first thing I thought when I listened to Eyehategod's debut, In The Name Of Suffering. To understand what I'm saying you just need to listen to the song "Depress": The bass is fat, sexy yet very morbid. I can feel the naughty sexiness of that amateur scene but at the same time get the great feeling of the killing... The nice ol' killing.

Almost as good as Take As Needed For Pain. It comes really close imo.

I think it's a bit too raw production-wise and less focused but at its' best it does come real close to the sophomore album. I understand and agree with Mike when he says in the liner notes of "Take As..." that it was with their sophomore that they achieved the sound the wanted to produce from the very beginning.

But yeah man, beast of an album. Also my very first review <3
Man the memories, the bass line on Depress is one of the very first I learned as well.

Its a great bassline, and your review was awesome, especially for your first.
