Bands like Iron Maiden, Angel Witch, Raven, Blitzkrieg and Saxon dragged heavy metal - barely breathing after coming off worse in a bareknuckle brawl with punk - kicking and screaming into the 1980s. Good old Saxon. Maybe not a classic album, but "Rainbow Theme", "Judgement Day" and "Militia Guard" are easily better than majority of their songs they would do after this album.

An awesome masterpiece those who thing that NWOBHM is a sound, its example as it sounds, opening song and intro. Greta amsterpiece, in mid 80's Saxon was more popsy, mid 90's came backw hit heavier sound, but this also is speedy, fast and awesome Opening song just blown me away, exelent ballad, heavyer version, Conan style song, Knull The Congeror movie about super hero, awesome Biff seams read some books and stories, great lyric, rest is just rock n roll, still 70's and now its history, how many studio albums 20  Biff is 65c and still kicking... awesome band

Listening again after a few years. Now I wish the band played all out heavy metal and less rock n roll on this record. They did rock pretty good, but the problem is that it sounds kind of like two different bands playing on different songs or no clear vision how the band should sound like. I prefer the HM sounding songs highly, and one of those songs that I seem to have missed before was Stallions Of The Highway, now easily one of the favorites. From a 7 to an 8.

Rather mediocre debut. They clearly hadn't found their niche yet, so for every good song there's at least one more average and forgettable basic hard rocker. The album cover is rather corny, but it has some bad-ass attitude. I love it.

Primitive and for the most part very "rock-n-roll-ish". Frozen Rainbow and Militia Guard stands out as they sound more like something off Argus (Wishbone Ash) and both display Saxon at it's best. Overall though this isn't really my cup of tea.
