Strong thrash with fair amount of technicality. As I see it, there's two things that kind of weaken the output: not evenly good vocals on all songs and the songwriting, while it's rather interesting and weird, I don't think the songs are as good as they possibly could be. An unique album in thrash for sure and it's a treat to listen the best parts of it. The title track seems to do the most ass kicking for the time being.

I've always enjoyed this album, back when I got my first mp3 player I had this stuff constantly playing. In my mind Psycho Surgery was their peak despite releasing some great albums after this one. Ted Kirkpatrick was a killer drummer, one of the genre's best. Sucks that he passed a way due to some rare lung condition just recently. Now there's one virtuoso less in this world and that's just balls.

The reason why I ended up listening to Tourniquet was when someone wrote a comment on some Lars Ulrich news article on Blabbermouth saying that he (Ted) is the best thrash drummer ever and then I gave them a shot. Afterwards I heard some other people also calling him the best, I haven't heard similar about many thrash drummers, expect maybe Lombardo and Hoglan etc. I always enjoyed his playing even on those records that weren't very good otherwise. Rip, I will listen some of their songs tonight.
