Rating: 8 Excellent album. Pretty ahead of its time to my ears considering how much 'Lunar Strain' I can hear in this.

...
Yea, some Strain there (when pedals roll), though I'd say there's also Skydancer elements (the beautiful bass for example, drumming rhythms, and those thin lead guitars (also early Senteced)) and a few riffs too (actual some riff sounded like one from Skydancer). Possibly DT copied Eucharist a bit. Also, At The Gates wrongness and rage here and there. Screams are a mixture of Gothenburg bands plus some doomy Katatonia/October Tide despair.

The sneaking hi-hat is nice.

A lot you mean. DT have always acknowledged the fact that they were heavily influenced by Eucharist.

A Velvet Creation - Skydancer -era, yep. But already on the next Dark Tranquillity album there were new tricks in their music, so when it comes down to Eucharised The Gallery, not so much, I think.
