Listen to Xerath's cover of YYZ, excellent stuff.

Heard it twice now and really enjoy it. Kelly's vocals are a bit rougher than before, but musically it's as strong as ever.

I know this is a rather shallow question (because I'm going to find out eventually and make up my own mind), but how does it compare to the other Atheist albums? Do the musical arrangements themselves stand up against their own technical work? I'm excited, so that's why I'm asking.

I definitely think it does. Other than having a more aggressive sound (the Jason Suecof treatment) it's very much in line with old Atheist stuff. The songwriting is still just as killer, and the licks and riffs just as badass.

I seldom like tech death, but this one is great!
-Brutal
-Memorable melodies
-Technical
-Time Changes w/o souding just for the sake of it
-Audible bass

Reminds me of Elements on the first listen... vocals a bit more pronounced and distracting but other than the shortness of the album it seems very redeeming. Masters of jazz metal have a nice comeback by the sound of it... looking forward to further listening.

What a good suprisei i didn't expect that! It's a perfect come back according to myself. They didn't try to copy piece of time or another old stuff. But they kept the jazzy feeling with more metal parts.

An excellent comeback, and one that has certainly stood the test of time too. The band haven't lost the edge that was displayed on 'Elements', and they even manage to keep the right length. I actually prefer this to 'Elements', but it seems 'Jupiter' is the most underrated Atheist album.
