I am really glad I didn't review this album one week ago, because I would have said something like 'this album is a terrible disappointment, it has nothing special, everything that made As The Palaces Burn so great has vanished...'. It is not my opinion anymore. Actually the mistake I was about to make would have been to not give more time to this new release. Fact is that Ashes Of The Wake, just like As The Palaces Burn last year, is a grower. You may not find it great or something at first, but you keep coming back to it until you realize that yes, indeed, it's an ass-kicker.

Well, if there was a poll for Lamb Of God's magnum opus or defining work, I'm pretty sure it would yield this. Ashes Of The wake is not only an outstanding thrash/groove metal album but also one that every metal fan must "die for." From start to finish, it imposes the power of their previous works as on New American Gospel and As The Palaces Burn and the depth of Sacrament making it an epic listen. This is the one album which has it all.

Rating: 9 One of the greatest metal albums of all-time. Every other minute I found myself either headbanging or making the metal face in preperation for headbanging.

I hate to use another cliché, but you shouldn't talk about your mama that way.

EDIT: Hey, that rhymed.

Keep Quoting, until you get a giant spider with a huge dick filled with Venom to rape you in your sleep at 3 a.m. in the morning and you will get pregnant with spider eggs even if you are a guy and they will eat you from inside.

EDIT: Hey, that rhymed too.

Thanks, but I already spent the night with your mama. Seriously though, shut up and leave Lamb of God to people who actually know how to appreciate good music.

EDIT: That didn't rhyme, but you felt the burn anyways, right?

Rating: 8 Clearly by very big margin, Das is now officially a mascot of illiterate asshole.

Congrats, btw.

How does anything he said have to do with illiteracy? Maybe his opinion is extreme and doesn't have a good logical base, but his spelling and grammar were just fine. Unlike some other people on this site. And he can obviously read, so that can't be it, either.

I find his opinion to be a little dumb as well, but I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Rating: 8 Great little album. Great songs and one awesome riff after another.

Obviously not for the Trve Metal Kvlt Elite who know far better than us mere mortals.
Troy Killjoy - 22.03.2014 at 02:23
Rating: 8 I think the production style suits the sound perfectly, not sure what Northern Danger is on about. I don't think I'll ever get tired of listening to these riffs.

I'd have to go with Break You as a favorite. Some of the vocals Randy do are absolutely sick.
FROST ON THE BREATH OF LIFE, EMPTY OF WARMTH AND LIGHT!
