PERFECT.
I have a rare album cover of it featuring a girl with a skeleton hand.

Gotta say, I think this album is pretty well done in terms of progressiveness (not like beef). Something about it keeps it from growing too deep in my musical soul (whatever that means). Maybe because I back-catalogued it (listening to COE first).

Still, for dudes around my age (young then) they did prog-metal decent service here.

This is a pretty good album to be honest. I prefer the vocal style of this album to 'City of Evil', yet the song structures on 'City of Evil' are slightly more interesting to listen to.

Say what you will, but this album does have some slight progressive tendencies.

I have to say, after listening to it several times for god-knows-what reason, this is actually a pretty decent album.

Vocals are a bit iffy but the guitar melodies are excellent and (although Troy is gone since a very long time so a bit pointless to comment on that but meh) I do agree with the person above me that this album does exhibit a level of progressive songwriting, their structures and way of crafting songs are somewhat unusual for this genre.

And Chapter Four is boss.

I'm a big A7X hater, but I heard this album is way different from everything else they put, and that Matt's vocals are less prevalent. And wow this is actually really really good for the genre. They're not anywhere near a prog band but this is probably the least formulaic early 2000's melodic metalcore album I have heard. The really long songs feel natural, and often lead well from one to the next. Matt's screams aren't very good (coming off more like an Atreyu clone) but his cleans are a lot less whiny and damaged. Still not a good vocalist, but when combined with the somewhat-rough production, this album is much more listenable no matter how much you may hate him.

I have listened to this so much after discovering it that it's ruined my last.fm and made me look like a fan of the band. The riff on the first verse of "Remenissions" is just too good.

Chapter Four, Remenissions, Second Heartbeat, I Wont See You Tonight, Clairvoyant Disease and of course All Things Will End.

Just from tracks alone this is a good solid melodic metalcore/heavy metal album. Good compositions, solos, riffs, drumming rocks on this, passages and transitions are all well put and have this band's personality written all over it. Best avenged album for sure

I like the other A7X albums better, but even then none of them jump out at me. The highest I've given A7X is an 8 on City of Evil. This however, was pretty bad imo. A few good moments, and I like Unholy Confessions, as well as I Won't See You Tonight Part 1. But overall, the vocals and guitar weren't that good and it was forgettable as hell.

This used to be the shit when I was 12, I remember really loving Second Heartbeat. I still can get a bit of enjoyment out of that track, especially the "As time pass us by, regrets for the rest of my life" part which is still really fun but I'd otherwise rather forget I ever listened to these guys hahaha

I'm still gonna keep the score I gave this album when I registered for the site, as it was an incredibly important album for me for a couple of years, but yeah, I think I would probably struggle to make it the whole way through a listen of it these days. And yeah, Second Heartbeat is definitely the highlight of the album

This should be celebrated as A7X's rise to power. Their most potent and underappreciated effort to date.
