Grief and Sorrow is what I feel when I hear a Pestilence album without the great vocals of Martin Van Drunen, anyway a vocalist change is not good most of the times (I mean Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse, you get the idea?) and now this album is odd, not the Best Pestilence album for sure, in the songs the Death Metal parts are still there, but now with a lot of musical mixes (I swear I hear some jazzy parts), anyway let's see about this album?

There were a few better albums in '91 but not that much. I think it's rated right here by death metal fans.

This album sound like a less evolved (maybe a little less progressive) "Human" in some ways, but still good for 1991.

Watch out if you ever listen to this at work or with people you are not comfortable with. Close to the end of the ninth track, "Prophetic Revelations" and tenth track "Impure" you get some NSFW sounds.

This album is one of my favorite death metal albums of all time.
and yes, I'll echo the above-mention from quieted_darkness, the NSFW sounds (basically, porno-type moaning) can be a bit disconcerting in mixed company

A 90's Death Metal classic and my 2nd favourite Pestilence album. The inclusion of shorter more ambient tracks makes the album as a whole feel more like a journey, which Prog albums should IMO.
