21:14 - MechanisT I'd actually semi-agree with that, Lit.
21:14 - EMols86 If Nu metal is a good subgenre, then how about naming 5 GREAT Nu metal bands? And I'm not talking about bands that just made 1 great album, but I'm talking about a consistently good discography.
21:14 - Lit. Well, you're wrong on all accounts. First, there are some decent Nu metal out there. Second, Machine had maybe one Nu album (Supercharger). They're actually groove metal. And in terms of genres, Shoegaze/Blackgaze is the worse.
21:13 - MechanisT Burn My Eyes (the '94 release) isn't nu metal at all. If anything, that's some kickass thrash (not the conventional type but still thrash).
21:11 - EMols86 About Machine Head or Nu Metal? Maybe I haven't given the genre a fair chance, but everything that I've heard pretty much sucks if you ask me. Just not my style I guess.
21:05 - MechanisT Hair and glam are the stinkers. Nu metal is "good starter material" for many, as was the case with myself. I have fondness of it.
21:05 - Dark†SymphonY I didn't even think Babymetal was even nu metal. I thought it was just extremely bad metal sounds with J-pop.
Ok, Fungoid Stream are weird. Bizarre. Odd. Then again, I guess the fact that they are a funeral doom band, yet adopted the name Fungoid Stream and opted to eschew headstones, cemeteries, or other dark images and instead put a starfish on the cover of their latest should have been a clue. A big clue.
Oceanus is what would happen if you gobbled fistfuls of mushrooms (the psychedelic kind, not the shiitake kind), smoked some hippie lettuce, and tried to compose a funeral doom album from the couch while simultaneously watching The Discovery Channel's "Planet Earth" in 1080 Hi-Def.
The best deal I've found was The Offspring's Americana for $0.01
I got Apophis' Heliopolis for $0.01... it came in perfect condition (I had to pay shipping so I guess it was $3 ... but whatever). Always curious about why albums are put up for so little
