GWAR is very likely the most original thrash metal act out there; you just have to look at them to know what I mean. They are dressed as monsters from outer space and their live shows are just outrageous. This all contributes to their lyrical content, which isn't that serious either. Still, I count them as thrash metal because musically this album, Lust in Space (2009), is nothing more than aggressive, up-tempo thrash metal.

Gotta say Lords and Masters is my favourite.
speaking of Gwar, AUX tv's got a fucking awesome prize pack courtesy of Metalblade records, including drumsticks autographed by Gwar and their new CD, as well as an autographed copy of the Cannibal Corpse comic book and a ton of other shit that you dream about at night.

Rating: 7 There's less of a thrash-centric approach to songwriting here, at least it seems to me that way anyway. The title track and many other songs seem a little slower and heavier, favouring an almost epic, ambitious tone over the hard slog of bashing out riff after riff. That said, it's still a fairly enjoyable record, the title track and "the Price of Peace" being two of my favourite GWAR songs.

Very very underrated (especially musically) too many people focus on the comedy of gwar, but i think musically as a metal band they are great too.
