Not a bad album but somewhat a middle album for Rage. It follows the same formula as Black in Mind, not as thrashy and dark though, but most of the songs here are quite forgettable. The first four tracks are all classic Rage songs but after that it never really gives anything great. It's a bit plodding and all those mid-tempo songs, yeah I can't really seperate one from the other.

Yes, exactly, that is the problem here. It is the Black in Mind formula, just in a bad application.

I dont quite agree. I dont find any classic Rage song on this album.
Higher Than The Sky as well as Deep In The Blackest Hole are very good songs, but far from the band's classics imo.
After the title track it plods a lot, that I do agree on.
But then you may have overlooked the closer: Fading Hours, the highlight of the album for me.
It is the "All this time" of "End of all days". Though the only secure path to get there is to skip most of the tracks predecing it.
With this album, their downward spiral has started (maybe with the exeption of Soundchaser).

Yes I should have mentioned that one. It stands out among the other tracks.

Here I don't agree, there's plenty of great stuff to come
