Rating: 8 I like this album, best out of Rainbow's non-Dio albums.

dare I ask why do you call it cheesy? It's an easy listen, even poppy sometimes but cheesy it is not.
I agree it's their best non-Dio album.

Maybe it depends on your definition of "cheesy" - it's a label I tend to slap on any '80s rock that's so middle-of-the-road, it sounds like it could've been done by any one of a dozen bands. "Magic" was the clincher.

This certainly isn't a bad album - I rather like "I Surrender", even though it is basically a three-minute chorus with a guitar solo - but you just know Blackmore is holding so much back.

I might even say this is a good album. It has some great melodies and the neo-classical feel shines here...

Rating: 6 Growing older and I actually start like it , weird isn't it
songs stands out are:
1, 2, 6 and 7.
Can be bets of commercial eras ?
Joe Lynn Turner and Graham Baret are strong vocalists, I wish they would re cord something more metal to remmeber

Actually Turner was on Malmsteen's Odyssey album plus the Live in Leningrad live album; also he sang on a couple of songs on Malmsteen's cover album Inspiration from 1996.

Graham Bonnet is a good singer but I don't think he was a good choice for Rainbow. Hence just one album with him.

Never liked Yngee he is just guitarist, no soul into his music, but if Tuner was on song Spanish castle Magic its awesome
I like Graham solo, new one, and I think he is rock n roll singer , I think band had no chances or didn't want wait to find better

I dare say that Malmsteen was quite good until 1995; his 80s works are especially great.
