Additional info
Based On Friedman's playing on this album, Dave Mustaine decided to recruit him to Megadeth as a second guitarist before the recordings of Rust In Peace (1990) started.

On some copies of the CD both "Jewel" and "Forbidden City" are listed as track 6 and therefore "Thunder March" is listed as track 7.

If Marty Friedman's work in Megadeth inspired me to pick up my guitar, then this album has almost driven me to rip out the strings, smash it up and bury it six feet under. Whether you love or hate Megadeth, I'm sure Marty Friedman needs no introduction.

Although he is highly gifted in terms of technique, it is not his technique in this album, which is impressive, but his unique phrasing. It's all here, the exotic Middle Eastern and Far East influences, and his ability to tastefully inject his passages with speed.

The Galactician

Bought this when it came out, listened a couple times, and then promptly forgot about it for a zillion years. I’ve revisited it recently and after a half dozen listens I would say it’s maybe my second or third favorite shredder album behind Chris Poland’s Return to Metalopolis. Love both the albums for the same reason: songwriting. Lots of guitarists can melt your face with blazing solos, but a lot less can write catchy and compelling songs.

Dave sure knew how to pick ‘em.
