Menace Ruine came, dropped two albums on us within the timespan of a few months, then went quiet again. Talk about guerilla tactics. Cult Of Ruins was harsh Black metal with noise and psychedelic effects, The Die Is Cast is... completely different. Well, there are a few binding elements once you know this is the same band, but if you're not aware of that you would never be able to connect the dots.

I'm surprised how much I haven't listened to this in recent times. It's still as unique and brilliant as it always was.

Sheesh. There are so many things I need to listen to and I still didn't

But according to your profile page you've listened to every band that has ever existed, and a few from the future too =P

Just like you =D

Yeah that list is quite long probably because there's a lot of non-metal on it :
Or perhaps i'm easily entertained. Or maybe both

For whatever reason I had major problem with the vocals of this band, but somehow such thing no longer exists, and music is amazing. There is some black metal spirit going on behind all the beauty of the music.

More than a good album, but its a shame that the vocals here almost solely is melodic. On Cult Of Ruins both the music and vocals are extreme at times which I liked.

Extreme but massively unrefined. That album to me sounded like a band that didn't know what they wanted to do yet, so the result was just a poor-sounding mishmash of random riffs and noisy feedback. Admittedly it's interesting to hear what they might have sounded like if they'd gone down the black metal path but they made the right decision in abandoning it imo. I'd be interested in them reprising the approach these days now they have experience under their belt.

You should go back and listen to CoR again, its a mishmash that puts a on ones face. Without it their discog would be a bit less interesting. Imo they have a strong core in their folky The Die Is Cast sound but its great fun when they mix it up a bit more. So, I enjoy Union Of Irreconcilables as they bring in some new elements to disturb the folky elements. Although I am just in my honeymoon yet regarding MR, which is your pick in their discog?

I had a brief skim to remind myself actually. I just don't think it sounds good. The random electronic-y plucking sound that permeates the whole album just puts me right off, as well as the badly implemented (sounding at least) industrialised drum track. If I had to pick an order it would probably be this one first, followed by the most recent, then Union of Irreconcilables (I enjoyed the slightly more noise-laden approach on that one) followed by Alight In Ashes (let down by overbearing sound imo, not sure why it's the highest rated) and then the first. Can't recall what Sigil Sessions sounds like though.

I waited so long to hear this one. It is one of those albums which I felt I truly wanted to get my hands on in order to experience it fully.

My goodness isnt this fucking beautiful... Love the calm yey always intriguing atmosphere and those oh so lovely vocals. Cant get enough of them. And it was only their first album of this style! Such a talented pair.
