May people pardon that I cannot tell much from the band's past yet, since this is my first try with them, but it looks like their other albums will also follow into my collection. I was searching for some new stuff in the local store and the cover of this made me look closer at it. Apocalyptic by Evocation, promising names. So good so far, I can now say it is one of the blind purchases that I will never regret.
Well, i expected more from this album. it isn't as good as it's forerunners. "sweet obsession", "We Are Unified Insane", "Murder In Passion" and "apocalyptic" are nice songs but: 1.the other 6 are very very decent and nothing special. 2.from the 4 i mentioned only sweet obsession is really great.
i dont know the effort the band has put in this album but it could be much better as they've proved in the past. not bad though. enjoyable but not "addictive"...
It's a good death metal album...so my rate for this is 7
i hope you've listened to their previous 2 albums which are 10000 times better...
I have just listened to apocalyptic. But if you say so, maybe I will take a look at the previous records!
"Tales From The Tomb" is much more old school than "Dead Calm Chaos" but both are PERFECT imo. they have awesome songs. these 2 albums made me love EVOCATION so much that i find "apocalyptic" very average comparing to those albums... try them as soon as you can! you'll surely enjoy them!
