Abigor's third full-length album "Orkblut-The Retaliation" was released in 1995. This album is a very good example of an album with a good fusion of rawness, atmospheric sound and melody. I must say that the performance of drums, guitars and keyboards is well coordinated. Sometimes it happens that in a particular part of a song, the speed doesn't suit, or keyboards don't suit or so on; but in this album you will not find any weaknesses as such. Timely use of keyboards and timely speeding-up have enhanced the songs and to a great extent helped in creating a good atmosphere. The performance of the band members is really worthy of appreciation, for there are only two members involved in performing the instruments (i.e. excluding the vocals) and they have played with good timing and skill.

I know this is only an EP and not a Full Length, but I think it fucking SLAYS the debut album!
I have somewhat of a weakness for Dark Ambient/Medieval/Neo-Classical interludes as well.

This is my favorite Abigor release. The black metal and dark medieval/pagan atmosphere complement each other perfectly.

Hoy shit, it might be the six pack of beers talking here but this is one fine piece of underrated black metal. In this period of time it would not be weird if Abigor did a split with Ulver, seeing how Bergtatt was released on the same year as this one. This EP is just so tight, no fillers because of the atmospheric interludes/instrumentals that flow perfectly. This flows like a perfect 24-minute song. I might need to revisit this album while sober but right now it's incredible. Raw yet highly melodic and well composed.
Damn fine addition to my collection seeing how rare it is by now.

This is a very cool release. With Silenius from Summoning providing his signature tortured wails and with some phenomenal keyboard melodies sprinkled throughout, this sounds like the missing link between Summoning's Lugburz and Minas Morgul.
