Forest Of Shadows? When I first listened to their EP "Where Dreams Turn To Dust" I remained speechless, I couldn't utter a single word or make a sound. The emotions that had overran me while listening to this brilliant 3-track EP where so many, so intense, so bleak, so heart-rending that I remained there where I was sitting lost in my own world of bitterness and pain. Forest Of Shadows' melodic doom/death metal is filled with intense emotions evoking a grey atmosphere as if you were lost in "a forest of shadows" mourning your beloved one or even mourning your very own self welcoming "eternal autumn" to your life.

Yeah, one of the first doom stuff I got into way back before I really knew what doom was...and still among some of the best shit around for me. The flute that leads to one mighty riff and emotional cries in the first song are just glorious.

If it werent for the third track I would have a solid 9 here.
Still, in every instant of this EP I can find so much more than in their entire full-length debut album.

I'm not the biggest Doom Metal fan, but this is a great release from an otherwise patience-testing genre.

8.8/10 for me
