Fun! Groove! Riffs! Yeah! Four years after their debut and two personal tragedies inside the band, Lazarus A.D. are back confident and strong with an addictive juggernaut by the name of Black Rivers Flow.

The great ideas found on the band's debut The Onslaught are truly taken to the next level and developed into great memorable songs. The band stepped a bit away from the thrash territory and went for a more groovy direction, which made many people who liked the debut angry, but the change, in fact, made Lazarus A.D.'s sound much more original. Black Rivers Flow has pretty much everything you need to get yourself into a good mood or have fun at a concert: plenty of good riffs and shredding solos, strong steady drumming, a few breakdowns here and there, diverse vocals, and easygoing song composition. There is a great catchy intro into the album that "American Dreams" begins with and then develops into a kick-ass opener. There is an equally catchy outro made from a great riff that "Eternal Vengeance" soothingly fades away with. Everything in between is one hell of a fun ride.

Seems like they went a little more metal-core with this one...

The word gen means "illusion" or "apparition." In India, a man who uses conjury is called a genjutsushi ["a master of illusion technique"]. Everything in this world is but a marionette show. Thus we use the word gen.

It's not a bad album.....just a bit disappointing. Guess I was expecting a bit too much after their killer debut. They sound a bit like Pantera on this one, don't U think Hmmm......

Agreed, It's very good, but the first one was maybe like an 8.8 to me so it's kind of hard to live up to that kind of expectation. Still gonna grab this one though

Oh yes....the first album was really good....8.8 would definitely be a fair rating for that killer of an album.

Jesus christ, what happened?

Generic Mid-Tempo stuff? You guys arn't Tempo Of The Damned era Exodus, damn it...

What happened to The Onslaught's assault of guitars? So much about the original album that was awesome seems absent here, and its very disheartening. Come on guys, you had such a great start! I'll let you have this little mess up... But come on, you can do soooo much better.

I give it a 6.5/10

Nothing really stands out, and the thrash is almost absent entirely. Dissapointing :S

This will be the greatest release of the year! This band is awesomely interesting, and not just any ol' bland and generic new era thrash band. Thes guys stand out! Still very much Groove Metal, and still very much with thrash metal riffs. Nothing to do with metalcore (ha ha come on now). Check out the "Making of Black Rivers Flow" on YouTube, where they explain the little change in direction - it HAS been four years since 'The Onslaught', so naturally they've grown.

VERY skilled musicians! The drumming and the guitars/soloing is nothing short of amazing! This is THE new (thrash) band that stands out among the generic!

Very weak compared to the first one. I can't even find words how much this cd sucks.

Yeah, was alright. Overall good but no real stand out tracks. I enjoyed the music but sometimes the vocals felt like a metalcore band and that sort of turned me off from potentially good songs.
