Well, here we go again, more cookie cutter death metal. Sure, As You Drown is slightly less banally unexciting than a lot of boring death metal, but being minutely better than crap doesn't make Rat King album of the year by any stretch.

Fantastic, i've got to say. although it's a bit bland at times, it's hard to stay completely original in todays music scene. what ever the case these guys have managed to put together a pretty brutal album. no room for bullshit, all straight hate death metal. i would deffinatly reccomend it.

So I've been on a music binge the last few days and I didn't have anything left from 2011 to listen to on my list so I gave this a shot...gotta say I agree with Doc's review and score...it's pretty average stuff. A tad on the -core side of death metal as well, which doesn't help its cause. Heavy on breakdowns and shallow on songwriting.
