Crisis In Utopia is the first full-length from Holy Grail, a newer band in the metal scene, but nonetheless, they have put forth an impressive effort here. Basically, they mix a power metal style and a straight up heavy metal style, the album is quick, full of tight melodic riffage, and an enjoyable debut.
The first thing I'll address is the "hardcore" vocals that occasionally pop up in the background. They are nowhere near as pronounced as, say 3 Inches Of Blood, and I really don't think they have much of an effect on the album. In fact, the vocals here are actually quite well done. The vocalist has a voice with good range, and finds his own style, it's distinctive but doesn't seem like a copycat performance.

Recently i bought this record and i have to say that they are musicians really brilliant. An album very solid in all of their songs, so i will not highlight any particular song, you will found heavy metal, power metal and some bits of thrash in their music, i will higlight the singer, really i love this voice, special voice, that shows a lot of energy. Also i'm going to say that i find this type of lyrics conjugated with this kind of music very original.
Well, finally if you want good music, this is your disc!!

I didn't know who this band was until I saw them open for Blind Guardian, and I was instantly a fan. They're better live than they are recorded, which is really saying something.
Great album! \m/

Great album. I like it. The only thing that I really don't like about it is the "hardcore" screams in the background, but really they're not THAT annoying. I know a lot of people say that ruined the whole album for them. Personally I would like if they weren't there, but the fact that they are there doesn't stop me from enjoying the songs for the most part.
Also James-Paul Luna FTW!!

This is a great album! I ran accross the video for My Last Attack on youtube and was hooked before the song even got 30 secs in and immediately downloaded the whole album and have not been disappointed by any of it...I am sad that one of the guitarists left after the release I hope that does not affect how they will sound in the future. Similar thing happened to 3 Inches of Blood (both their guitarists left) after Advance and Vanquish and they turned into mallcore shit and I really hope that does not happen to these guys...

The vocals can take some time to get used to....but they are definitely talented in their musicianship.
