This album, released exactly on Halloween of the year 2000, represents the beginning of Cradle of Filth's commercial era. A bitter disappointment for me, great for some other people. Don't get me wrong, I think that this album is anything but bad, but it's simply softer, more Gothic orientated than I would like. OK, let's descend into Midian.
Though my favourite COF album will always be 'Cruelty...', 'Midian' has the best riffs and solos-all of the guitar work is just so choppy and clean sounding, and the keyboards only help to make everything sound more epic than it already is.
