2011 is truly a fine year, that I will not deny. But then again, we've had quite a number of releases that reach such abysmal depths of quality that they somehow even manage to outshine and draw more attention to themselves than the stellar records much more deserving of attention. While Dedicated To Chaos doesn't exactly hit the absolute and complete rock-bottom like some 2011 albums we've been blessed with, calling it total shit mostly hits the mark.

Dedicated To Chaos was a very expected album, at least, by me. After the so well acclaimed 2009 album, American Soldier, I was "jumping with excitement" knowing that they would release a new album in so short notice.

The newest release by one of the most influential bands in progressive rock history, was for me a complete disappointment after listening to the entire album. It came to me as a surprise seeing the band perform in such low profile. The only good track in this album is "Broken", that is definitely one of the most dramatic and sad songs in rock history. The track brings the best of the band, the voice of Geoff Tate is filled with so much feeling and emotion that it makes my eyes become filled with tears. The instrumental arrangement is not amazing but it's perfect for the song required and the voice expressed by Geoff. Unfortunately, the good vibes and great songs ended with the song mentioned above. This album is completely uninspired, looking like a band that should stop for a while with their activities, each member should try some side projects, something alternative so that when they returned, the band would make a triumphant comeback. It's sad to me that a band like Queensrÿche with so much history, with so many amazing releases such as Operation: Mindcrime or Empire, would dare to make an album that is so different from the rest of the things the band as ever made, but also so alternative and so bad as this album is. Maybe the band should have continued with the American Soldier album, if they wanted to do something so different, they should have continued with a very sentimental and sad style, like the "Broken" track or the 2009 album, that puts in the table the best of the band in a different context from the progressive style.

Don't be. Buy this album here and now, music is hard to be described by words.

No thanks, this is the worst album I've ever heard. The shittiness of this release is hard to be described by words.

You misread that quote you made, and who wrote those words is right: Rage for Order and Empire have nothing in common with DTC whatsoever.

1. When did you start having hallucination ?
I have never heard of anyone in the world saying "Rage for Order and Empire are in common with Dedcated To Chaos". You and Angelic Storm are "Fantastic 2" to imagine things. Or just bullshit, trying to be smart ?
2. You are the one misunderstood the statement made by Scott and Geoff. They meant the STANDARD of music, not the musical composition. You think they can not differentiate their own music ? They need you to advice them ? to correct them ? you are pathetic, living in your own world.
3. Obviously taking up music classes are not sufficient for you, you need IQ test ! Try your best to score above 80.

You never back up your comments with arguments that make sense anyway, just insults which don't help anyway.

All right then, I misunderstood that statement, it confused everyone anyway, comparing RFO and Empire to DTC is like comparing apples to oranges; same standard you say? lol

Dude, you know, you really need to get a grip. This album barely has something to do with prog, not to mention influences from early Camel. Get over it, pretty much everything on this album sucks balls. When 2-3 people say that you have a problem, then you can ignore, but if all the people from around here share the same opinion, then you need to get your facts straight... Whether you like this album or not is none of my business, but stop acting like a kid that earns for attention and instead of annoying people around here with your disjointed speech, play DTC until your ears rot.

Before boasting around about your so called "musical training" I advice you to change your music teacher first or simply reconverse. If you consider that DTC is actually better, on par, or even close to Mindcrime or Empire or any early 90s and 80s Queensryche, then you must have shitty music tastes. It is like saying that Metallica's St. Anger can ever be on par with Ride the Lightning, or Megadeth's Risk being on par with Rust in Peace. If there is a reason why music tends to suck these days (of course, not refering to al of it) it is because of so called musicians like you. Because somebody that says DTC is better than Mindcrime cannot be taken seriously, not as a person, nor as a musician, maybe as a troll.

Buying this album is a waste of money. There are much better albums made in 2011 than this garbage.
