Nah, it's not Colony, but heck, i like it.
It will be sucky if this turns out to be the best song on the album, tho.

I am more of an old in flames fan, but i still quite liked the resent albums. After A Sense of Purpose i had hopes for them (yeah i actually liked that album) but this song is a bit meh to me. I mean Jesper was the only original member of the band left and was the main song writer. I think they should have quit after Jesper left, or at least started another band together under a different name. I know they are all exceptional musicians but they seem to have just lost their flare. Just my opinion don't mind any objections to it

I'll copy my youtube comment after listening to this: It's actually a quite good song though I wish for some more heavy and guitar based songs. I listened to some Jester Race this morning and the guitars in this just can't compare with it. It could be beacuse of the bad quality youtube clip but I mostly hear drums and bass and some ocasional chugga chugga on the guitar.

The beginning seems to me like Dark Tranquillity intro. Afterwards, not bad at all, but also nothing breathtaking...7/10 for me

@ Aeonfrost
This is a valid link for now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP-bFwZNkEg. If this gets deleted too, just type "in flames deliver us" in youtube search bar, something will eventually come up.

I couldn't agree more! But I would give it a 8.5/10, it is a little ASOP-ish, but it's a good song nonetheless. Half of ASOP songs were almost un-listenable ("Chosen Pessimist", what were they thinking?), but this is quite good... In terms od mainstream, melodic heavy metal, this is actually a very nice song imho.
(I mean, no sence in tagging In Flames as Gothenborg-metal no more, they are modern heavy/melodeth metal nowadays, and should be judged through that prism)

Listened to the song, improvement over ASOP, the guitar solo was awesome, anders improved his vocals a bit, hopefully the new album will be good as well.

Up until the solo the guitars were pretty much non-existant. I enjoyed the guitars being the forefront of their music, regardless of which album it was I listened to. A little disappointing considering ASOP was also a disappointment. Hope the guitars come back for the rest of the album. This being said, not a horrible song - I liked the solo.

Precisely. BUTT ( <- funny joke) I'm 'worried about' are they going to offer pieces like this thoroughly the album. Hope they will.

Not even The Jester Race? To be honest I like everything up to and including STYE (which I initially disliked a lot but have learned to appreciate in recent years).

Yeah... I dunno what people find Jester Race so appealing about it o.o

This one so totally didn't click with me...
If the rest of the album is like this song, I'm most likely going to like it even less than A Sense of Purpose, which is quite a feat to accomplish.

Oh, The Jester Race is one of my favourite albums, in general.
About this one, not too great. The vocals still don't do it for me. But it has some good riffs.

I like the vocals on this one but the riffs seem a little uninspired. I am an old In Flames fan but asking for that is just unrealistic.

It sounds pretty cool, I liked it a lot.
I didn't enjoy "A Sense Of Purpose", I expect this new album be better.

This single kind of sums up all that In Flames is these days.
The Dark Tranquillity inspired intro sounds nice, but then the loop of uninspired riffs kicks in and then comes Anders. I know I'm bitching about this, but he's not much of a vocalist honestly. I mean he used to do well, when the songs didn't rely on his voice. But these days he's kind of taken over the whole songs. There doesn't seem to be enough room for actually building up the song, as the vocals start, the pace of the songs just keeps on steady and there's really no variation anymore.
That's what's wrong with In Flames today in my modest opinion.

I've only just recently took a shining to In Flames. I'm really liking older stuff such as Jester Race, Whoracle and especially Clayman but I haven't gotten along to well with their more recent works. To be honest i'm not liking this new single either. I feel I've come into it too late and completely missed the boat of what otherwise could of been one of my favorite contemporary bands. Still, I'm looking forward to watching them live for the first time at Sonisphere UK this summer regardless.
