Legendary death metal veterans Dying Fetus are back with their most appropriately titled album to date: Reign Supreme. Not unusually different from their traditional war/gore themes, this time around the title applies more to what the band is doing as opposed to what they want to do.

My only complaint on this album is that the production feels to clean, too inhuman. I feel like the production on Descend Into Depravity, or let alone Suffocation Effigy of the Forgotten is more hard-hitting, it sounds more Bottom heavy, more human and less perfect.

I actually like the production - it allows you to fully injest those meaty riffs without them being swallowed up by the drums and wall of noise that a lot of brutal DM suffers from. Basically it makes the album infinitely more accessible and listenable IMO.

It's the same reason why my favorite Pig Destroyer album is Book Burner.

I'll Give it another listen with That in mind. For now I stand by what I said. Also I haven't listened to That pig Destroyer album yet, Not to worry I tend to listen to a TON of Grindcore in the Fall, So I'll probably be getting way into Pig Destroyer, Napalm Death, Terrorizer and other Grind bands when the fall rolls around.

Never heard of autumn grindcore before!

Personally I like symphonic Black ala Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir in winter (especially cold wet nights) and glam and grunge in summer.

Yeah I HATE Winter Even though its pretty sometimes so anyway In the fall I get really angry cause I know stupid fucking winter is coming. Fuck you, Iowa Winters! EEEEEEAAAAARRRGGGGGBBBLLLHHLLHLHLHLHL!!!!!!!!! (Incoherent noise ala Scum)

I catched them when they just released it (bought it right there actually)... It's only because of that concert that I decided to check more of their stuff.
Shit was insane.

Yeah I've been a fan since I saw them twice in a week. It made a huge difference in how I perceive them.

What period would that be? That comment up there was about 2008.

I saw them sometime around 2006 or 2007, back when they had Mike Kimball. I saw them again after he left and they were lacking a bit. Still always fun to see them though

I think this is their best album

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here
