Nile have been going for a long time, and are one of the few death metal bands that have been so consistently brilliant with each release for this long. Each album in the catalogue has been subtly different, and number seven At The Gate Of Sethu is no different.

YES! December will be awesome!

It'll most likely be released in 2012, but I put 2011 for now. Will probably be changed soon.

Well I haven't heard that Nile is working on new album, so yeah I meant the unreleased track's album.

Dööm - 31.08.2011 at 15:53
Id' like to see a reliable source about that new album in the works. Nile has not, neither on their official website nor their myspace site, mentioned anything about new material since Those Whom The Gods Detest.

Rating: 9 Ahhh. I can't fucking wait.

Though, isn't this the collection of unreleased things from the old era I've seen here on News?

Oh cmon man! They frequently play in India and the cities like Bangalore and Mumbai....they come at every fest and perform it. Check out their dates in their official website.
ThunderAxe1989 - 16.11.2011 at 05:18
Another release for December 2012......My hopes may be a bit high, but I hope it's better than the last two Nile albums......I dunno those releases to me seem very watered down They're nothing like "Black Seeds Of Vengeance" or "In Their Darkened Shrines". now those were some great Nile albums!
meh, not particularly looking forward to this one.

When are you bring it out
maxpayneester - 08.05.2012 at 08:54
  Hi ppl,
Pls dnt take it the wrong way but i think best days for nile has passed. I have been listening to nile since thier album Black seeds of vengence in 2000 and i've heard every track from them. My fav album was ityphalic and nile was my fav band untill those whom the gods detest. where they began to sound monotonous and were more on a lighter side of music with reduced technicality and increase in annoying disgruntled memers for vocal within the songs and predictability has made it more and more repulsive. The tracks from last album cannot be compared to thier earlier work like howling of the jinn, essentail salts, lashed to the slavestick or sacrifice unto sebek.
Unless they improve upon there work in this one i dnt think there is too much to expect from this one as well.
PocketMetal - 24.05.2012 at 15:29

Lol I was thinking the same thing.

Those Whom the Gods Detest was one of their best albums (and I've listened to all of them) in my opinion. I can't wait to hear the new album!

Edit: I found it quite good, dont have problem with this one, I'll listen to it more, who knows...
garmling - 19.06.2012 at 12:05
Rating: 6 Leaked, and I must say, this band from now on is officially out of my favorite list...I always hoped they will return to glory of Black Seeds of Vengeance and Annihilation of the Wicked, but this new Nile is just an non atmospheric over the top complex brain washing...I almost fell asleep half way through and found my self wondering, what happened to this once amazing band?! the way I see it, they don't longer record an album to "picture" some ancient Egyptian stories, to revitalize that haunting atmosphere (the thing they were doing back in the glory days), but now they do it only so they can prove themselves that they can play faster, more precise, hundreds notes per second over the top technical metal ridden of any memorable atmosphere....pity...well, on the good note, this one is better than Ithyphallyc....
!J.O.O.E.! - 19.06.2012 at 19:57
Rating: 4 Basically agree with the above. Very bland album, not much more to say really. Yet another let down for 2012. This can go on the heap with Gojira, Meshuggah, Candlemass, Fear Factory Etc.
JD - 20.06.2012 at 00:14
Rating: 8 My third spin, I'm definitely enjoying this.
RoboCohort - 20.06.2012 at 02:07
I'm liking this album very much. Not their best album, but definitely a good one.
Misfit74 - 20.06.2012 at 03:58
Although one of the early samples released made me think this would be no good that's far from the case. I managed to hear the whole thing through and didn't find a track I didn't like save for the aforementioned 'The Fiends Who Come to Steal the Magick of the Deceased', which didn't really do it for me. Some amazing stuff on here and I've never been much of a Nile fan, per se. I'll be giving this a few more listens, at least.
MetalSpider - 21.06.2012 at 04:25
The album after first listen was a step down from TWTGD. I'll have to give it a few more spins for sure, however, it just didn't capture me the same way that TWTGD at first listen.

Are you talking about Origin?

Its on da Tubes.
MechanisT - 24.06.2012 at 19:43
Not bad, but I miss the atmosphere that they once invoked in the minds of listeners. A step in the wrong direction, I'd say.
Also, the vocals suck. A pity.
Kenos - 25.06.2012 at 17:50
  5/10.
Bland, bland, bland, and most of all... Inexpressive.
Nice technical display as ever. And that's it.
I wasn't hoping for something exceptional, anyway...

I was really looking forward to this one and from what I've heard so far it seems like I will only enjoy half the album.
MetalSpider - 29.06.2012 at 03:43
After several more spins, I think it's a great album...just nowhere near as great as Those whom the Gods detest...in my book.
Tatras - 29.06.2012 at 09:01
Rating: 10 I don't understand those low ratings. Maybe you all are deaf? This is third best Nile album after BSOV and ITDS. Ofcourse album of the year. Track - "When My Wrath Is Done"... I get goose bumps when i listen to this.

I don't understand those low ratings.

I see only 3 votes under 8, not exactly a whitewash of negativity. Even though there should be far more low votes than that for this steam pile of average.

Not when it comes to metal. It is impossible for the opinion of someone who is 20 years old to hold more credibility than that of someone who's been listening to metal full time for 33 years by now

Marcel gives <6's to any band which is at least slightly popular. >7's are reserved for obscure drone-sludge extravaganzas from Azerbaijan and East Timor.
