I didn't even know this existed until I visited Sepulchral's website yesterday. Phenomenal album that will likely move up in my list before the end of the year.

Réally? I remember I listened to one of these songs about a week ago and it was so 'normal' that i thought the album most likely wouldn't be that sweet. I could be wrong though. Sounds were ok ('though too normal), but the songwriting was almost non-existential (in terms of being adventurous). Too bad I don't remember which track it was.

The overall lack of songwriting is what makes this enjoyable for me to be honest. This might as well be one continuous song, as it's essentially just one long tremolo-picked riff-fest that builds on the dark atmosphere throughout the entire album. If you don't enjoy that kind of minimalistic... envelopment (?) then you probably won't find anything about this album enjoyable.
Personally I think it's right up there with MNQ.

If it's about an album long minimalism, then I have no problem with it. Then the one part I heard doesn't anymore carry that big a role on its own.
EDIT: Although, whether minimalism is being well-composed or not, it's a hypersubjective question.

To me, the folk passages are pretty off-putting to the whole "one constant song" concept. Not to say they're bad, I actually really dig them, but every time one pops up it sort of breaks my trance.

I would go as far to say this album is almost sort of obscure. Perhaps its just the album art being so non conforming to a typical black metal album cover though. The higher leads add to the overall atmosphere.

For the most part their covers have always been "typical" of this brand of black metal: dark, forests, etc. but I think pursuant to the album title (something along the lines of October Dusk) this image is more than appropriate.

Sorry, absolute crap from beginning to end. When I say "end" I really mean the point at which my patience came to an end. They certainly did nothing to help the situation with their spoon-slapping Quebecois folk and lyrical content. If these guys play at any local festivals this summer you will find me in line somewhere for a $7 hot-dog or a piss.
