Acrimonious Vagabond, Abhorrent Wayfarer... these are the names behind the Falls Of Rauros guise, the names that hold the key to a truly jovial existence. The Light That Dwells In Rotten Wood is but a staff that aids its bearer through the darkness, into the light at the end of the tunnel, roaming through lush forests and vast meadows.

Very solid album. Reminds me of Agalloch here and there with its longer arrangements, but it certainly has a sound all to itself. Highly recommended.

Out of all the atmospheric black releases of 2011 that I have heard so far, two albums from Bindrune Recordings roster stand out from the rest for me: Obsequiae's Suspended In the Brume of Eos and Falls of Rauros The Light That Dwells In Rotten Wood. Both of them are wonderful in their own unique way and with the latter, Falls of Rauros has created a beautiful and relaxing album. It is full of pleasant melodies with some folk elements present here and there between the harsher parts. Highly enjoyable!
