01. Vestals Of Descending Light
02. Arousing Wombs In Nine Angels Pleroma
03. Gospel Of The Void
04. Beati Estis Cum Maledixirint Vobis
05. Hypophanie

08. Abortion Light
09. Liminal Matter Corruption

Line-up
Vestal - vocals
A.K - guitars
Perversifier - guitar
Blastum - drums

Take a drink. Another French black metal band, another great release. Not as wistful as Alcest, not as out there as Deathspell Aus Nord, this is closer to good old raging and dissonant black metal. A release worth looking into.

Well this album is rather pleasant, it has that French sound and holds certain similarities to BaN and Reverence but it's more straight forward BM and doesn't wander far from the confines of the genre. highly recommended

I've been thinking about checking this out, and that just sold it to me

The cover looks like Reverence spliced with BaN

I swear to god the acoustic guitar in the outro almost sounds like a lute

Exactly

Actually it seems the BaN artwork and the Merrimack artwork were done by the same guy: Daniel Valencia of Fenomeno Design.

I'm three tracks into this album and already love it!

Am I the only one that hears a little bit of DO on this album? I'm not saying it's a bad thing (it's actually good) I just don't want people to think they're ripping off another great French BM band...

Not feeling the greatness described by others to be honest. Definitely a serviceable black metal album with a cold atmosphere, but nothing to get overly excited about.

Unless you have a BaN fetish of course.

Oh, I am overwhelmed by amount of good BM I'm checking lately (mostly because of recommendations on my BM list). This stuff is indeed good and as stated before, it resembles BaN and Reverence. I guess this album was somewhat overlooked (not on MS maybe) because it was released in the same year that reverence pulled out their masterpiece.
One more thing: I never expected to hear Iranian traditional music in a French black metal album (the acoustic outro of Hypophanie). It was definitely a good surprise.
The major weak point of this album is vocals: I prefer shrinks to shouting type extensively used here
