Taranis is a one-man project founded by Attila Bakos over 10 years ago. If that name doesn't mean anything to you, it's probably because you didn't bother checking out Thy Catafalque's Rengeteg or Róka Hasa Rádió - albums that benefit from the addition of his vocal talents. For those of you who enjoyed his melodious singing, you will be more than pleased with this release.

Lyrinan

12.02.2012 This album is one of the most seamless blends of genres you've heard in a while. It's melodic, no wait, it's extreme! It's prog, but it's black metal, but then it's not black metal. One thing that steals the show is the clean vocals. Trust me on this one, this dude has one of the most soaring male voices in metal today, or any day.

Get it here.

Definitely buying this, does anyone know if there is a way to own a physical copy?

EDIT: Doubt it...

Rating: 8 Storm is such a killer track, that it completely overshadows the rest of the album.

Rating: 9 This album has some moments that remind me of Isahn, and some that remind me of Thy Catafalque, but overall I love this album. The vocals are absolutely fantastic. I'll probably end up shelling out the $8 for the download. Wanna listen to this while I drive.

Rating: 10 What a stunner this is. I stumbled across this one on Staff Picks and have to say that its fucking remarkable. Every second of this album blew me away. 4 songs of terror and joy. Starting at hard rock pace, then morphing into thrash black metal finally ending in a joyous melancholic foreboding end. And that's just the first track 'Storm'. All four tracks are on an equal level, every one a quality piece of genius. And to think one man did all this by himself. Or maybe he is not man, but a God............

How much do you think shipping to Belgium would cost? Cause if that's too much I'll just go for the bandcamp download anyway .

simple, there is nothing great about this album at all. Extremely standard and not even excuted all that well. Very mediocre stuff

there is more than enough good to great stuff out there, but Taranis certainly doesn't belong to that category of music.
