Is anyone aware of a site to pay for a digital download of this album. Everything I'm reading about it is making me dying to get ahold of it as soon as possible...

At first listen this album chewed me up and spat me out again. While it does grow on you it's still pretty grisly stuff.

I understand the feeling. I'll need a lot more listens to understand it.

That's great. I don't find every moment memorable, but the frightening atmosphere makes it worth checking out.

Lurk kind of remind me of a more melodic and atmospheric Grief. But if you're just getting into death doom (which I think this is closer to, despite the sludge twist), I'd personally recommend diSEMBOWELMENT, Winter, Coffins, Process of Guilt, Mourning Beloveth, Saturnus, Mar de Grises, Ophis, Hooded Menace and Faal. The big names are the first few releases from Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Anathema and Katatonia, but they all moved on to play something else so be mindful of that. That covers most of my favorites, though I could include some funeral doom acts.
But yeah, rediscovering this album. Listened to it when it was new but kind of forgot about it for half a year. It's still very good.

This was one of the first albums released last year that really caught my interest but ironically it was not until just recently that I gave it a spin. And what a gem of an album it is! Or shall I say dirty and disgusting gem since the music is nothing short of filthy and menacing. But it is also surprisingly groovy at times with a lot of headbang inducing moments that I really enjoyed amidst all the horror and filth.
In short, Lurk have released a very solid and promising debut and I hope that there is more to come from this band in the near future.
