As a big fan of Alter Bridge - the only MS blemish I found until now is in not having them - and an ex-fan of Guns N' Roses, this album was for me a really welcome surprise. About Saul Hudson, aka Slash, I was divided in two feelings: the adoring teenager, thankful to one of the guitarists who introduced him to metal, and the way too cynical metalhead who, considering himself mature being around in the scene for some years, despised this "overrated, corrupted by money and worldliness, anything but original" guitarist.

Possibly the most overrated guitarist in the history of music.

Possibly the most overrated guitarist in the history of music.
Well, he did keep stealing Izzy Stradlin''s limelight.

I like Apocalyptic Love quite much, ''Not For Me'' being my favourite track so far from the album, I looooooove that song, keep playing it on repeat, go Myles!

Yeah, Myles is definitely a great vocalist. I still don't understand why Alter Bridge shouldn't be on MS.

Loved Anastasia, I've never heard Slash play a classically inspired piece before, actually made me stop what I was doing in awe when that track came on

Slash actually played on concert that lovely piece of melody quite oftenly; if you check his live and oh so hated Made In Stoke album/DVD, in the 10+ minute lasting incredible ''Godfather solo'' you will also hear that Bach's inspired riff. Anastasia is one of my favourites as well, even all the reviews who state Apocalyptic Love is a lousy album give Anastasia a lot of credit.
I have been listening to this album non stop since it came out and I love it day by day more. I loved Slash's eponymous album much more than anything by Slash's Snakepit and Velvet Revolver, but I love Apocalyptic Love more than the debut. And Myles, what a stunning vocalist, the album woulnd't be the same wihout him (but I do admit, if a song or two featuring Chris Cornell would be added, it would be even better, I mean you can't go wrong with Cornell).

I found the Album pretty enjoyable to listen too. It's not the best album this year, but it is a fun listen. In my opinion it is better then Slashes previous album. I do think the album is better since it only has one singer, instead of a constant change in singers. I also found the song writing to be a step up from the previous release.
