21:42 - .starrk @Mechanist: no, what you like = what you like. If I say I don't like classical music, I'm not saying classical music is bad: I'm saying I don't enjoy it. Nothing more.
21:41 - MechanisT Well? What you like = good and vice versa. It's not rocket science that needs to be explicitly mentioned.
21:41 - Dark†SymphonY Emols, Yep I agree there. Also I've never had a problem with other people's musical tastes. I don't see a point of hating nu metal or any other sub-genre of metal, as I'm quite open-minded listener anyway.
21:39 - .starrk @Mechanist: I'm not sure anyone even used the term good genres..
21:39 - EMols86 @starrk Exactly! I'm almost done listening to it though. And yes, that's what real music sounds like, whether you like it or not. :-) @ Lit. So what if it isn't shoegaze? I never said it was. I simply posted an amazing album.
21:38 - MechanisT Oho, so now listening to other "good genres" AND nu metal is antagonistic to each other? Mhmmm, naice one.
01. We All Rage In Gold 02. At The Well 03. My Heart For Deliverance 04. Bleeding The Pigs 05. Casting Of The Ages 06. All Is Found… In Time 07. Raise The Dawn

I have a nasty bet with a friend on whether Tool or Neurosis will release their next album first... But I don't care anymore 'cause fucking Neurosis is back!
Wow ! I've got to say I was giving up on the genre, and I stopped searching for new Post/genre music but Neurosis are the masters and this album is nothing short of a masterpiece.
Written by @gent_-_orange on 15.10.2012 at 20:32 For sure, The only problem I have with this and other Neurosis albums is that they have to be compared to Through Silver in Blood.
As much as I LOVE that album and find it to be on my top 5 of the 90s.... I must disagree. I find all their albums very different from each other so comparing becomes futile.
Would you compare TSIB with an album like The Eye Of Every Storm? I wouldn't because the styles are too different for me so it wouldn't be useful let alone fair.

Fair Comment, Stylistically they are different and shouldn't really be compared, I just think Through Silver in Blood is there best album, Regardless of later evolutions and changes in sound.

Oh, I agree there. To me it's their best album but by quite a close margin still and since they all are quite different from each other I find myself liking them for different reasons so the slight drop of quality isn't noticeable for me because I'm searching for one thing when I want to listen to TSIB and something already different when I want to listen to say Given To The Rising.
It also helped the fact that I discovered most of their discography BEFORE TSIB... That definitely helped me to appreciate all their work within their own light.

Well as you know it was the total opposite for me (Thanks btw), The benchmark was set with that album and it was never surpassed, I am glad I got into this band, They have done no wrong so far.
For the first time in my life, I was underwhelmed by something these guys put out. I have listened to it a few times hoping it will get better, but its just so.........average for them. The atmospheres are pretty nice, but there's no riffs or melodies that I could really hang onto. Some songs definitely have their moments but it either takes too long to get there, or just simply aren't that impressive. I know Neurosis has always set the bar high, but this album feels a little unfocused and just doesn't pack a punch like their other albums have. Even "Eye of Every Storm" which was their "soft" album hits way harder than this. Still good, but I already find myself wanting to throw on other Neurosis albums which generally isn't a good sign.
I dunno guys, I think it's their best yet (of the albums I've heard). TSIB is definitely good, but nothing special to my ears. "We All Rage In Gold", "Casting Of The Ages" are epic tracks.

Welp, THAT is an unusual stand for someone who digs Neurosis... Considering it's probably their most influential album. I consider this to be not special at all. Re-done ideas that sometimes fail to get a proper ending.
