18.04.2012 So you think drone is all about oppressive atmospheres, crushing banality and putting )))'s on the end of your name? Well Bong may change your little minds on that. Taking a bit of a cue from Barn Owl (the band, not the animal) and their more chilled out and relaxed approach to the genre, Bong have shifted their sound into deeper, rather than denser surroundings. Extremely well produced, expansively psychedelic and mysterious but ultimately very listenable drone music.

Sitars are frigging awesome.

Rating: 9 Another excellent album. Bong should totally tour with Barn Owl. Incredibly deep and relaxing drone.

Not me, but I have been seriously thinking about buying an acoustic bass any time I listen to Space Cadet by Kyuss or some Acid Bath ballads... So I get what you are saying.

Huh, I never understood why they are SO amazing. I just see it as a bass... without frets. Ta-da!
In my case, Uni takes so much of me time that I can't bother myself doing something more complicated with my best friend. So acoustic songs to pass the time will do just fine. My current bass is broken AND I don't even have an amp. So fix that shit and get a good amp will probably cost around the money I could spent on an acoustic bass...Hopefully. I don't want to expend too much xD.

That's pretty much it, but it has an amazing sound.

I hope you find a good deal, I see Ibanez's for like $250 'round here.
